A Hidden Gem

With three private dining rooms, a marquee that boasts the bush as a backdrop and plays host to weddings and functions, and a dining room that holds 50 at capacity, Ruby’s Mount Kembla caters to events big and small.

When you step into the cottage, complete with original floorboards, two open fireplaces, and memorabilia of a time gone by scattered throughout, you’re immediately struck by the quaint, old-world cosiness of the place. This is the charm of Ruby’s – a spot with much history and much heart off the well-worn track, where you can easily spend hours sampling, sipping, tasting without worry.

Offering a seasonal 5 or 7 course degustation menu with wine pairing, if you haven’t visited Rubys Mount Kembla before, the Good Food Guide 2019 says “It’s impossible not to be charmed”.

Who we are

Having completed his first three years of his apprenticeship at Ruby’s, then fourth year at Aria under Matt Moran. Scott then went on to work under Tom Aikins at Tom Aikins London and Melissa Craig at the Bearfoot Bistro in Whistler, Canada. On returning to Australia, Scott took up the role as head chef at Ruby’s and and then when the old owners decided to sell and move on, he made it his own in 2008.
